Tawa Sensei's Lecture

Hey everyone,
How did everyone do on the test yesterday? I thought it was on lessons 1-6, so I freaked out about chapter 6...but fortunately it wasnt :)
On Thursday, I went to Tawa sensei's lecture on teaching and learning Japanese. I think most of you went too. I thought she was so sweet and funny! Her lecture was really informative. I was able to better understand how hard it is for my fellow classmates to understand Japanese grammar when she explained the different categories of languages. I felt priviledged that I had a Korean background to make it easier for me. I thought that her analysis of Japanese culture and its rise was also interesting. I know that personally, it is the culture that attracted me most to the learning of the language. Tawa sensei seemed like she really loved teaching the language. Her English was also very good and proper. I enjoyed the lecture a lot all in all. It made me reevaluate how I study. I think I should get in the habit of speaking out loud more often!

こんばんは!

こんばんはみなさん。
私はどうようびとにちようびにべんきょしました。
今日はちょっと。。。げんきがいいじゃないですね。
Did everybody read that article about the study abroad in Kyoto? I wish I could go, but I think it'll be quite hard for me to go abroad anywhere because of my major and concentration requirements. :(

おはあ世ございますみんあさん

おはあよございます。
I first got interested in the Japanese language and the Japanese culture when I started listening and watching Japanese entertainment. Then, after going to Korea one summer a few years ago, my family decided to stop at Tokyo before coming back to the US. The city was simply put, amazing. The people were so inherently polite and of course, the food was おいしい! Although this is my sixth class, I'm really happy I'm taking this class. I knew a little bit of Japanese through watching Japanese television and basically having a lot of personal interest, but I wanted to get a real grasp on the language from the very basics and proper dialect. Anyway, I have to go to class now :p じゃまた、みんあさん。
